Chennai formerly known as Madras, is the gateway of South India and Capital of TamilNadu State.  It is located on the Coromandel Coast of the Bay of Bengal. It  is India's fourth largest City, With an estimated population of 7.60 million (2006), the 368-year-old City is the 36th largest metropolitan area in the world. It is the knowledge and health care hub of India. Chennai is well connected by Road, Rail, Air and Sea. 

The main campus of the University is located on the Chennai-Bangalore National Highway (NH4), 8Kms from the Chennai Mofussil Bus Stand, 18Kms from the Chennai Domestic and International Airports , 18Kms from the Central Railway Station and 20Kms from the Harbour.

The Saveetha Nagar campus is located 10Kms away from the main campus, midway between Poonamallee and Sriperumbudur, on the same Chennai-Bangalore National Highway NH4.
