Part I Applied Basic Sciences ( at the end of six months)

( Common to all branches )
The examination shall be commenced from December

PAPER I :
A) ANATOMY,
B) PHYSIOLOGY,
C) BIO-CHEMISTRY
The duration of the examination for Paper I shall be 3 Hrs. 120 marks shall be allotted for Paper I.

PAPER II :
D) MICROBIOLOGY,
E) PATHOLOGY
The duration of the examination for Paper II shall be 2 Hrs.
80 marks shall be allotted for Paper- II.
The format for Applied Basic Sciences question paper: Consisting of 6 short questions in each subject of which five have to be answered in a separate answer paper, viz., Sections A, B & C for Paper I and Sections D & E for Paper II. Each question shall carry 8 marks.

There shall be no viva-voce or practical on the Applied Basic sciences.

 

Part II at the end of 18 months: ( 3 Papers )

The examination shall be commenced from December PAPER I consist of two optional subjects consist of six short questions in each subject, of which five have to be answered. Each question shall carry 10 marks. Each paper shall carry 100 marks.

Speciality Papers:

Two speciality papers (Paper-II & Paper-III) shall have two long essay questions carrying 20 marks each and six short essay questions carrying 10 marks each. 100 marks for each paper.Questions on recent advances may be asked in any or all the papers. Practical examinations for the respective papers may be included if needed.There will be a Library Dissertation for which 20 marks will be allotted.
 

Part-III at the end of 36 months


The examination shall be commenced from December Part-III will consist of four theory papers out of which one will have essay question in all branches in addition to Practical / Clinical/ Dissertation / Viva-Voce at the end of 36th months of the course. Each paper shall carry 100 marks. The type of questions in these papers will be two long essay questions carrying 20 marks each and six short essay questions each carrying 10 marks.

Minimum pass will be 200 out of 400 and not less than 50% in each subject. In practical examination, minimum pass is 100 marks out of 200 marks. The Viva-Voce is for 50 marks, Main Dissertation for 30 marks. Overall, the candidate should get 50% marks under each category for passing the examinations.Questions on recent advances may be asked in any or all the papers.

(a) Dissertation: Acceptance of dissertation shall be a precondition for the candidate to appear for the final examination.Library Dissertation shall be submitted at the end of Eighteen months, which shall be kept at the Library.

(b) Practical/clinical/examination:

In case of practical examination, it should be aimed at assessing competence and skills of techniques and procedures. It should also aim at testing student’s ability to make relevant and valid observations, interpretation and inference of laboratory or experimental or clinical work relating to his/her subject for undertaking independent work as a specialist. The total marks for practical /clinical examination shall be 200.
The clinical/practical and viva voce examination conducted for a minimum of two days.
Time of Examination 9.00 A.M. to 5.00 P.M. Maximum shall be eight candidates for each day. 

Credit System : (Internal Assessment)

300 marks shall be allotted for a Credit System conducted internally by the department, of which a student should get 50% minimum to appear for the respective University examinations. These credits will be continuously awarded and sent to the University on monthly basis, it is to be updated as the Cumulative Grade Point Average.
Viva-Voce: In two batches with one internal and one external examiner shall examine.
