Welcome to the Department of Prosthodontics, Saveetha University. Prosthodontics is the dental specialty responsible for the diagnosis, treatment planning, rehabilitation and maintenance of patients with complex oro-dental and maxillofacial clinical conditions using biocompatible substitutes, including implants, to replace missing or deficient teeth and/or craniofacial tissues. Various types of prostheses such as complete and removable partial dentures, laminates, ceramic crown and bridges and implant retained prostheses are fabricated. The department is equipped with fully air conditioned state of the art UG clinic, P.G clinic and implant clinic with imported Kavo dental units. It measures about 20,700 sq.ft and has separate undergraduate and postgraduate laboratories. It has centrally air-conditioned clinic with well designed cubicles, equipped with KAVO dental chairs and state of the art equipment. It also has a separate clinic for implantology with fully automatic dental chair, RVG and other accessories. The department has induction casting machines, ceramic furnaces, and vacuum mixers, milling machines, acrylizer and high speed lathes.
