Department of General Medicine

 

It is one of the largest departments of the hospital. Internal medicine department is run by two Professors, one Associate Professor, three Assistant Professors, six Senior Residents and twelve Junior Residents. The departmental service is utilized by around 300 – 400 out patients, 80 inpatients daily. The department takes care of 12 bedded critical care services including coronary care also. It runs diabetic clinic and hypertension clinic twice weekly. The department caters to all medical emergencies and non emergencies round the clock. The department is approved by Government DOTs program for supply of free medicines to TB patients.

Facilities available in the department

• Twelve bedded critical care service
• Four bedded cardiac care service with mutipara monitors, ventilators, infusion pumps and pulse oximeters
• Tread mill exercises test, pulmonary function test
• Additional subspecialties such as dermatology, venerealogy and leprosy and thoracic medicine are associated with medicine department
