The Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics has been functioning since the inception of this institution in the year 1988. Various restorative, endodontic and recent advancements in treatment procedures are being done routinely. Each PG is provided with separate KAVO chair along with all accessories and independent cubicles. The student will improve clinical skill by treating a wide variety of endodontic patients and will learn how to determine if a particular clinical situation requires consultation with other specialties. A fully equipped seminar hall with multimedia facility is available for conducting seminars.

The department is fully equipped with modern sterilization equipments, x-ray unit and RVG. Various latest restorative materials are available for clinical use. The preclinical undergraduate section is equipped with simulators and phantom heads and students are trained on both extracted natural teeth and ivorine teeth. The first and second year undergraduates have a clinical exposure posting where they observe patient management. The Undergraduate clinic is well equipped with KAVO chairs and students are well trained in decision making, planning treatment and its execution.

 

The department of conservative dentistry and endodontics is a state of the art department, which is well equipped with the most modern equipment. Separate cubicles with storage facilities and ports for computer connection are provided to each postgraduate. The department has a surgical operating microscope, digital intra oral radiography, power bleaching unit, ceramic furnace etc., The preclinical lab has simulators for training second year undergraduates and first year postgraduates.

The department deals with all kinds of restorative and aesthetic treatment procedures. Extreme importance is given to sterilization of instruments. Both undergraduates and postgraduates carry out meticulous maintenance of instruments and mandatorily sterilize instruments everyday and prior to every case. Students are trained to simulate the clinical scenario, wherein they are trained to evaluate every case, chart a treatment plan and carry out all the treatment procedures in that patient. Postgraduate students are encouraged to attend scientific conferences, guest lectures, CDE programmes and present scientific papers and perform research work. They are also trained to take lectures for undergraduates.
