Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery offers a 3-year postgraduate program in Saveetha University. The program includes extensive training in maxillofacial trauma, facial reconstruction, maxillofacial pathology, orthognathic surgery, aesthetic surgery, temporomandibular surgery, craniofacial surgery, and dentoalveolar surgery. The department has separate undergraduate and postgraduate sections with independent cubicles provided with Kavo chairs. The department treats 2500 outpatients on an average per month. Our postgraduates will get trained to do 150 minor cases and 30 major cases on an average per month. Our post graduates will get hands on training to do all the major cases under direct supervision of the faculty. The Postgraduate residents in the second year will go for a rotation in intensive care unit in Sundaram Medical Foundation. The department of Oral and Maxiilofacial Sugery offers a dual degree program (MDS & MOMSRCPS) for the postgraduate students, which is first of its kind in India. Postgraduates will receive both MDS as well as MOMSRCPS after completing their final examination.  As a student of university, your experience with us will be academically oriented, student friendly, supportive and social. The department is also a center for training and examination for MFDS / MOMS RCPS Glasgow, which is conducted by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow,U.K.
The Department is well equipped with an Air conditioned Outpatient Department and Minor Oral Surgery suite. The Department also has an excellent Operating Theatre Complex with three operating theatres, post operative recovery ward, Intensive Care Unit( ICU) and 50 bedded In Patient ward Facility supported by laboratory and Radiography facility  for routine investigation. Also equipped with an operating microscope for microvascular  surgery and Oscillating saw for orthognathic surgery.

The Department offers a full range of  maxillofacial service including management of maxillofacial trauma, Dentofacial Deformity, Cleft lip and palate Surgery and Distraction Osteogenesis, ablative surgery for oral malignancy and its reconstruction using microvascular surgery and a very large volume of Dentoalveolar surgery and Routine Exodontia.The Department has an Oral Cancer foundation, which offers free Ablative and Reconstructive Surgery to patients with Head and Neck malignancy. Also have an upcoming Radiotherapy Unit for post operative Radiotherapy.
