Q. Is the University approved by the Governement of India?
A. Yes, It is notified in the Gazette and is declared Deemed University under Section 3 of UGC Act 1956 vide Notification No.F.9-3/2002-U.3 dated 18.03.2005 of the Governement of India.

Q. Is graduation from this University approved in other countries?
A. Graduation from Saveetha University is recognized be the Medical Council of Malaysia & Srilanka. Therefore, the degree is recognized in Malaysia, Srilanka and in all Middle East countries where the Indian degree is recognized.

Q. Does the University offer any incentives/scholarships/award for meritorious students?
A. Our University gives utmost importance to academic excellence. The following awards are given every year for meritorious students.
a. The best outgoing student of every year is awarded full tuition fee waiver for the subsequent year.
b. The best outgoing dental graduate is awarded a Postgraduate seat of his/her choice.
c. The 2nd and 3rd rank holders are sent to Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons, Glasgow, UK for an externship program on complete sponsorship from the University.

Q. What are the advantages of teaching curriculum in Saveetha University?
A. The main thrust of our curriculum is to equip our students with a wealth of applied knowledge, best technical expertise and confidence in handling any kind of clinical problem. Nine new subjects are taught in the Dental Curriculum namely Behavioral Science and Fundamentals of Dentistry in the first year, Dental Armamentarium and Forensic Odontology in the second year, Medical Emergencies in Dental Practice and Dental Imaging in the third year, Aesthetic dentistry and Implantology in the final year. Our university is the only institution in India where clinical postings are introduced from the first year. Our BDS curriculum is unique with a semester pattern of examinations.

Q. Are the Undergraduate students allowed to participate in national and inter-collegiate programs for academic activities like paper and poster presentations?
A. Intercollegiate Seminars and Conferences are hoisted every year at national level for Undergraduate and Postgraduate students by the University to encourage all the students to present papers and posters. Also, the Students are regularly sent to various places across India to participate in National Conferences and workshops.

Q. Are research facilities in the form of animal experiments and molecular studies available for the students from other educational institutions?
A. An exclusive Animal house and central lab in the auspices of BRULAC is functioning in the campus with an area of 10,000 sq.ft. The Animal house is CPCEA certified and has facilities to handle large animals like goats and dogs, apart from guinea pigs and albino mice.

Q. What is the patient inflow in dental and medical wing?
A. 700 patients on an average attend the Outpatient departments of the Dental College everyday which is the highest among all self financing colleges in the state.

Q. What is the examination pattern and its advantages for the Undergraduates and Postgraduates?
A. The University believes in continuous assessment of students from the beginning, Credit points are awarded to the Postgraduates for every case/procedure done, seminar/ paper presentations & publications. The same is done to Undergraduates in the form of Internal Assessment. The exams are conducted twice a year in the month of June and December.

Q. When does the admission procedure start for the University?
A. The entire admission procedure is done on merit. An All India common entrance examination for MBBS, BDS, BPT, BSc Nursing BE is conducted every year in the month of May/June. It is conducted in four centers across India. The details of dates and scheme of examination is given in the website and applications can be downloaded from the website. Similarly, An All India entrance Examination is conducted for MDS, MPT & MSc Nursing in the month of January/February every year.

Q. Is there a facility for parents and guests to stay within the campus?
A. A guest house with eight A/C double bed rooms with dining area is is available in the campus for accommodation.

Q. Does the University have staff-parent interactive sessions?
A. The attendance and performance of the students in all the tests and terminal examinations are sent to the parents regularly. Following every terminal examination, a Staff Parent meeting is held wherein the parents can discuss their wards performance in class.
